“To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive.”
— Robert Louis Stevenson
Having just returned from the colourful mixture of chaos and calm that is Sri Lanka, this rings especially true to my ears! In all classes this month we will be focusing on staying super present as we journey through our sun salutations, standing postures, backbends, forward bends and twists. This means that our active physical practice should be just as enjoyable (maybe even better!) than our Savasana (relaxation, or corpse pose).
We will also be concentrating on opening and releasing the parts of the body that tend to get particularly tight when we sit, at a desk or on a journey, for long periods. So come prepared to open the shoulders and spine as we flow through a series of backbends to refine our cobra posture, and to release the hips and hamstrings as we work our way towards a comfortable crossed legged seated posture for some meditation practice.
There are now just a few spaces left for the next Primrose Hill yoga workshop, ‘Making Space for Spring’, so please do let me know if you’d like to come. On Sunday 2nd April I will lead a long, flowing practice designed to create space throughout the whole body. We will release the spine, open the shoulders, free up the hips, expand the breath and create clarity in the mind before enjoying a nourishing relaxation and tasting some yummy, healthy treats.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
