Arriving at your yoga class ten minutes early, you quietly lay out your mat, lie down, tune in to your smooth, easy breathing and enjoy a blissful Savasana before class even begins.
For many of us, this is a highly unrealistic scenario.
In my (personal) experience, rushing into class with 20 seconds to spare, cursing the traffic, or TFL, or an unrealistic work deadline is much more the norm! As a result, shifting your attention from the demands of a busy city to your body and breath is often a tall ask.
This is just one reason that taking your yoga practice outside the studio – to your front room, back garden, or local park, can be incredibly rewarding.
If this sounds like a good idea, there are just a few spaces left on this year’s mini retreat in rural Berkshire on Sunday 12 August.
This day long retreat will take place in a beautiful village hall and garden just one hour from central London. We will enjoy two extended yoga sessions, a walk through nearby fields and woodland, a delicious vegetarian lunch and homemade cakes.
There will be plenty of time to dive as deeply as you want into your asana practice, explore a range of breathing and meditation techniques and enjoy a luxurious relaxation. The day is suitable for all levels of experience and there is private transport available from central London.
Last year’s retreat sold out so do let me know if you’d like a space!
